Kari Dorle, is a 2009 graduate from North Saint Paul High School, and was a 4 year starting catcher. She had All Conference, All Section, All Metro, and All State honors. Three of Kari’s four years behind the plate the Polars attended the State High School Tournament. In 2007, Kari’s sophomore year, North High defeated Chaska for the AAA MN State Championship title. Kari had the game winning RBI. Her senior year in 2009, North High took second place in state. Following her high school career Kari went on to the University of Minnesota and played for the Gophers where she was the starting catcher all four years, three of which were alongside teammate and pitcher Sara Moulton. Kari played a major role in Minnesota’s program turn around and success throughout her years behind the plate. Her senior year (2013) she was tied for first in the B1G with runners picked off with 7, was in the top ten both chances and putouts, and finished her senior year with a .992 fielding percentage.
Kari’s strong passion for the sport can be seen through her play but also through her instruction. Kari has been catching since the age of 12 and has many years of experience in the game as well as an instructor. Kari is the true definition of a catcher, who believes in hard work and help creating a strong leader behind the plate. She is excited to join the Strike Zone Sports team and open up the facility to not only pitchers but catchers as well.
