Abby Brinkmeier
After high school, Abby went on to play Division 1 softball at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. As a freshman, she appeared in 30 games and helped the Phoenix win the Horizon League Tournament Championship while being named to the All-Tournament team
High School: Abby graduated from Eagan High School in 2013 after an extremely successful career in a Wildcat uniform. She was a 5-year Varsity player and two-year Captain. She helped the 2009 Wildcats take home 5th place in the Minnesota State High School League State Tournament while batting as the DH as an 8th grader. She would spend the majority of her time with the Wildcats at shortstop and batting leadoff. Abby was voted by her teammates twice, as the Most Valuable Player and three times as the Offensive Most Valuable Player. She would also earn All-Conference Honors three times along with earning All-State Honorable Mention honors as a senior.
Club Ball: Abby spent her club ball career playing for the MN Stars 95 team. She would help lead this team to numerous wins and championships including a 1st place finish in the USSSA National Tournament in Orlando, Florida, and a 3rd place finish in the USSSA Canadian National Tournament outside of White Rock, British Columbia.
College: After high school, Abby went on to play Division 1 softball at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. As a freshman she appeared in 30 games and helped the Phoenix win the Horizon League Tournament Championship while being named to the All-Tournament team. As a senior, Abby batted .349 with a .440 slugging percentage and was named to the All-Horizon League 2nd Team. In the UW-GB career record book, she currently ranks 6th in walks (49), 7th in batting average (.300) and 7th in slugging percentage (.370). In the UW-GB individual season record book, she currently ranks 8th and 10th for number of hits in a season with 49 and 47 in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Defensively, she spent her career in the outfield.
Present: Abby is currently the assistant Varsity coach at Eagan High School and assistant coach of the MN Stars 04. She is also a 3rd grade teacher at Southview Elementary in Apple Valley.
